88 What’s the Basis for Choosing Well?

Have you ever wondered why there is such a hunger for nutrition information? Well, I suppose it has to do with the tremendous amount of sickness that is so prevalent these days. The physical and emotional pain that our friends and neighbors endure is astounding. And yet the magazines, TV and radio programs and bookstores are full of diet and nutrition advice. With all this information you would think that our health would improve, but it doesn’t and hasn’t for many years now.


The messages are so confusing and contradictory, how can we ever sort it out? Very few people really know what they should be doing to improve their health and the health of their family. However, there is valuable information that is buried under all the junk science, fad diets and bad advertising that we are inundated with every day. How can we know how to choose our foods well?


There is a very simple answer to that dilemma. It is simple but not necessarily easy… at first… but it becomes easy as you work through some addictions and bad information and get to the place where you feel great, take no medications, have energy and physical strength, have a clear, quick, sharp mind and are able to do exciting things to live your life abundantly. When you reach this place choosing well is a simple matter.


So… what is the best way to nourish our bodies? We find our information in the Word of God. The Bible is correct in all matters of life and faith and all areas that it touches upon. That would include many scientific disciplines including food science. Many verses give us instruction in how to care for our physical body in this world. At this point in time scientific research has discovered much about the foods that we consume and (drum roll)… it lines up with the Bible’s information. That’s no surprise. If we start with God’s instructions we will be correct; we will feed our body correctly; we will be able to do all that He intends for us to do.
