You are doing a great job of learning about foods so that your food choices are made with knowledge and wisdom. Just knowing about something is great but you must be persuaded that it’s the best choice and then choose it. For some reason many people feel that they are “okay” and are exempt from their poor diet choices. However, anyone who indulges in the Westernized diet that we consume in our country will end up with a degenerative condition at some point – it is only a matter of which one. If you question that, just look around you at the people who are sick. Our population as a whole is getting sicker instead of better. People are living with more sickness and disability. Look at the number of people who cannot get around without a cane, who cannot walk up steps, who cannot pick up something from the floor. I am not interested in that at all and I feel quite sure that you aren’t either.
The best gift of our eating plan is being able to avoid this entire crisis situation. Understanding how to make good choices to get healthy and stay healthy is a privilege that I don’t take lightly. How you feel colors everything else in your life. Seemingly healthy people are not getting away with anything; the statistics are not in their favor. The likelihood of getting away with what they are eating is very, very slim. It is only a matter of time.
