Rice and Vegetables



  • 2 – 3 cups of cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup thawed peas (optional)
  • 1/2 – 1 cup shredded carrots (optional)
  • 1/2 – 1 cup small broccoli pieces, lightly steamed (optional)


  1. Mix 1 or 2 teaspoons of tamari sauce into the rice.

  2. Mix in whatever vegetables you choose. Sprinkle with Faux Parmesan if you like. Serve with salad, a steamed vegetable, and/or soup.


If you do not have a rice cooker, I recommend that you look into purchasing one. They are a must for anyone who cooks a lot of rice or has never been successful in making perfect rice. They can be used for cooking other grains, legumes and beans (beans must be soaked first). You can also use parboiled rice which can be purchased in packets that only need to be dropped in boiling water for ten minutes.

This recipe could be made with any variety of rice or even other grains such as millet.
